Size and print: the top reasons for returns

• Ask for the size chart. “L” isn’t the same at every brand. If the listing doesn’t give chest and length measurements in centimetres, ask the seller; don’t rely on the label size.
• Print type. Digital print, screen print and embroidery last differently. For an item you’ll wash often, the print type matters more than the design.
• Fabric. The cotton content should be stated in the listing; how much it shrinks in the wash depends on it.
• Custom print. Items printed with a name or a custom design are made just for you, so they are excluded from the right of withdrawal.

Shipping, right of withdrawal and checking your delivery

• Who pays for shipping? It’s stated on the listing page; check before you order.
• Damaged package. If the box is crushed, torn or shows signs of having been opened, have the courier record a damage report on the spot. A damage claim without a report is much harder to pursue.
• Film the unboxing. Opening the package on one continuous video is the strongest evidence you have if the item is incomplete or damaged.
• Right of withdrawal. This is a physical product category, and the 14-day right of withdrawal applies from the moment the item reaches you. Custom-made items are excluded from this right; the full terms are set out in the purchase agreement.
