Riot’s rule and the real risk
Let’s be clear: Riot Games’ terms of service don’t allow buying and selling accounts, and accounts that are detected can be permanently suspended. No seller can remove this risk; be careful with any listing that says “guaranteed”. Make your decision knowing this.
In practice, these habits reduce the risk:
- Handover with the original email. If the email stays with the seller, the account can be taken back at any time. This is a separate problem from the ban risk, and it happens far more often.
- Right after the handover, change the email and account passwords and turn on two-step verification.
- Region. In LoL, an official region transfer is possible and is paid for with RP; it’s a one-way move. Still, buying an account registered in the region you’ll play in is both cheaper and hassle-free.
What to check in the listing
- Region: TR, EUW and EUNE are not the same. If you’re going to play with friends, choose the same region.
- Champion and skin inventory: the field that affects the price most. The listing description should say which skins the account has.
- Rank and season: rank is seasonal; the listing should say which season it’s from.
- Penalty history: chat restrictions, temporary suspensions and ranked queue restrictions leave a mark on the account. Ask the seller.
Frequently asked questions
Is buying a LoL account against the rules?

Can I transfer the account to another region?
Yes, in LoL an official region transfer is possible and is paid for with RP. But it’s a one-way move; buying an account in the region you’ll play in is the cheaper option.
How can I tell if the account has penalties?
During the handover, log in to the account and check its penalty history and any ranked queue restriction. Do this before you confirm delivery; after you confirm, a dispute becomes harder.
